Hamlet, Processo de Revelação

Hamlet, Processo de Revelação (Hamlet: Process of Revelation)
Teatro II CCBB, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
January 8-February 28, 2016

“The show Hamlet - Process of revelation is a collaboration of the brothers Adriano and Fernando Guimarães with the carioca Emanuel Aragão and puts on stage a single actor in the role of the title character and invites the audience to discuss it. For Adriano Guimarães, "'is the great text of the theater. What is so mobilizing about him? You can not easily grasp it, there are many possibilities for interpretation. "

In the role of Hamlet, Emanuel Aragão is alone on the scene and, from the famous phrase "to be or not to be, that is the question", opens a dialogue with the audience. Hamlet, the prince of Denmark who returns to the kingdom to avenge the death of his father, murdered by his own brother, seeks revenge while questioning the meaning of life and his actions. For Emanuel Aragão, Hamlet represents a milestone: "I think everything is there, modern thought, the foundation of the idea of he unconscious. With each reading, with each presentation, I discover things that I did not know were there.” (Information translated from the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center website)
