With its love both for improvisation and Shakespeare, 123 Schtunk has created a unique version of Romeo and Juliet where both laughter and tears have their places. The company toured with the show between 2006-2008, and it is now in their repertoire again with completely new, self-written music.

A performance of Hans Werner Henze's Royal Winter Music, songs inspired by Shakespeare's works. Guitar performance by Stefan Koim, interspersed with dramatic readings of excerpts of the plays. The performance was part of a public lecture cycle (Shakespeare400) which was designed to celebrate Shakespeare and inspire a wide audience.

Morecambe’s first Shakespearean festival is set to run over the weekend of Shakespeare’s birthday. Alongside theatrical performances there will also be music, dance events, art and poetry readings. The theatrical productions include: Twelve Nights; Romeo and Juliet; Shakespearean Murder Mystery; Puck’s Dream; A Shakespeare Gallery; Henry V; The Tempest; and The Play’s the Thing.

As the romantic, loving fair maiden is stained jet black, a fixation that defies the poet’s reason takes hold. Combining his story with spoken word, music and dance the Sonnets are reimagined and woven together depicting a tale of love, lust and desire as Shakespeare’s elegant verse situates itself in a mire of sexual angst and betrayal."
